Flattening Objects Too Large for Your Planer Using a Router. I will demonstrate a technique for flattening wood using a router, particularly useful for very large items or those with irregular shapes or for highly figured wood. I have used this method several times and it is a bit slow but it is very effective and will get the job done. It is similar to CNC routing but without the computer and expensive machinery.

A presentation titled “Working with highly figured wood. How to show the inside and the outside!!!” It is about cutting the stock so that almost all of the wood is used to make the finished item. The inside wood will be exposed on the outside where the figure can be seen.
